In dirt bike riding as with other sports such as skateboarding and BMX riding, kids dirt bike elbow pads are used for protecting the elbows from injury, impact and abrasion.
When I first started riding my dirt bike, my kid’s elbow guards were provided in my long sleeve body armour and I found this really good as it kept all the upper body armour including elbow guards in place in one easy zip on the jacket. You can, however, purchase separate elbow guards, if you decide to use a chest plate or short-sleeved body armour.
I believe it is worth having some form of dirt bike elbow guard to at least help prevent scraping and abrasion in a minor dirt bike accident. It is best to choose dirt bike elbow guards that are made of durable and strong material, fit the rider snugly and are easy to secure and take off.
